It's Been too Long
Coming into 2016 I hadn't thought much about blogging or honestly even remembered that I had a blog; so much has happened since my days in Churchill that time has gotten away from me. I'd simply forgotten about the little things in life that I appreciated such as writing; maybe it was me trying to focus on a bigger picture on moving to Alberta looking for a fresh start regardless, I have decided that (although a month and a bit late) that 2016 will be my fresh start not only for actually keeping up with blogging, but as well as focusing on the important things in life; family, friends, and maybe finally landing that job that I love and maybe also do a bit more travelling.
So before I can move forward I feel like that a quick summary of what I've been up too the last three years may be needed not so much for those who may actually read this but because I believe in a transition from when I left Churchill to now..otherwise it doesn't make much sense...at least to me and since it's my blog I can do what I want.
So once I finally arrived back in Alberta I quickly packed my things that remained at my mom's house and headed off to Red Deer. My best friend and fellow UofL alumni Breanna Mielke (whom I'd gone to Vegas with a few short months earlier) had found a house for us to rent and had already moved in with her dog Diamond.
Once semi settled in the house my mom and I took off to BC to celebrate my Nana's 90th birthday!
After a few days back in the Okanagan visiting with friends and family we headed back to Alberta where it was time to find a job; the holiday was over and the savings account would only last so long. I lucked out and found a job working at the Alberta Springs Golf Course. Never in my life had I thought about working at a Golf Course let alone working on the maintenance grew which would mean early mornings and lots of grass cutting; well let me tell you that I've now done that job every year since moving here. With a great group of guys..yes guys I am literally usually 1/2 females working on this crew and usually by the end of August I am the only female left.
But obviously working at a Golf Course is not all about the work it's also about having fun and we had a lot of fun, not not mention that during both the summer and fall it the course makes for taking beautiful scenery shots too.
But I have made sure to not let it all be about work...and having fun at work. Over the past 3 years I've also made time for fun with friends and family although I will admit that the summer of 2015 it became more difficult because I decided it was a good thing to work two full time jobs...not smart but I did manage.
“ Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.”
A few bigger things happened in the past 3 years...one of them being I finally got my mom to Vegas in February 2015...
And my best friend and roommate Breanna got married in October 2015!
Now pronouncing Mr. and Mrs. Steve Suk!
So that is a basic summary of the past 3 years since moving back to Alberta; short and sweet!
